Saturday, November 14, 2009, started like any other football Saturday in Columbus, Ohio, until I decided to take a home pregnancy test.
Shocked that the test was positive, it put a whole new spin on things.
It was already going to be an exciting day as we were headed to the OSU-Iowa football game. This game was going to determine which team from the Big 10 was going to go to the Rose Bowl.
It was a beautiful November day and the game turned into a nail biter as it went into overtime. OSU did manage to win 27-24. OSU went on to win the Rose Bowl 26-17 against Oregon.
It will forever be the day that changed our lives. Little did we know at that time that there were two surprises instead of one.
As of June 14th at 34 weeks 4 days the estimated weights of the babies are 5 lbs 2 ozs and 5 lbs 9 ozs. They are right on track and very reactive during the nonstress tests. That means I’m carrying around almost 11 lbs of baby. YIKES! Now we just keep waiting for their arrival!
The nursery is pretty much complete now. Just waiting on the 2 babies to put in the cribs.
A few photos from the baby shower on May 8th.
After my “surprise” gift on Friday night, my shower was held on Saturday. It was so nice to have my sister Ginny here to share this event with me, especially since I never expected her to be here.
Everyone went all out to make it a great party. My 14-year-old niece made my lovely cake and wrote a beautiful poem about twins. I received a ton of gifts ranging from books to outfits to blankets to bath items. There were about 12 people in attendance.
This was billed as a shower present from Janet’s parents in Vermont.
Surprise.
I started this blog a number of years ago as a place to post podcasts of new artists. After more than 30 podcasts in two years, things changed and I couldn’t find the time to put the shows together any longer.
Well, things are changing again and it’s time to turn the blog back on. This time around, it will be taking on a new general topic. Two of them, actually.
In the next few months, we’re expecting the arrival of twin boys. And then the real changes will begin — figuratively and literally.
Janet and I will keep you posted.
